Chicken or Egg?

I have always wondered how language evolves, and who copy-catted who in terms of phases and common expressions.

I mean, how did 'bullshit' mean the same as 吹牛, which literally means 'blow cow'?

Maybe some smart ass person had to translate for some big shot politician and wanted to sound more polite:

Big Shot: This contact is bullshit! Don't mess with me! Do you think you can get away with it?!
Translator: 这个合同是胡说! 不要弄乱我! 你是否认为你能逃脱它?!

Bah! how boring can web translators get?

Actual Human Translator: 这个合约是吹牛的! 不要玩我! 你以为你可以逃走吗?
Literal Meaning: This contact is blow cow of! Don't play me! You think you can run away morphine?

In my browsings, I found 吗 can mean Morphine as well as be used as a question tag.
Random Thought:
Why does my brain feel so fluffy and clean? Devoid of all knowledge and wit?
I just know that my period pains are killing me, if not my inadequate revision.
